Since Zara wasn’t feeling well, I was working from home on Monday and Tuesday so I can keep an eye on Zara, and if required, can immediately bring her to the Dr’s. This mean I get to spend more time with her. Her are some limited ‘conversation’ I have with her.<\/p>\n
Morning<\/u><\/strong> Milk time<\/u> Lunch time<\/u><\/strong> Evening<\/u><\/strong> Night 1<\/u><\/strong> Night 2<\/u><\/strong>
\nI walked downstairs, where she was playing
\nZara : *look up and smile*<\/span>
\nMe : Hello Zara!<\/span>
\nZara : *point to the TV*<\/span> Poot<\/span>
\nMe : *pretend*<\/span> Put what?<\/span>
\nZara : *point to the TV, and that ‘don’t-be-stupid-you-must-understand-me’ look*<\/span> Poot! Poot!<\/span>
\nMe : Oh, you want mummy to put the Wheels in The Bus for you is it?<\/span>
\nZara : *point her index finger to her other palm*<\/span> (now she used this not just to sign MORE<\/a> but also for WANT)<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>I came down from the study
\nMe : Zara you want milk milk?
\n<\/span>Zara : *put down what she was playing, came to me*<\/span> Kng <\/span>
\nMe : *looked at her quizzically*<\/span> Do you want milk milk?
\n<\/span>Zara : Kng<\/span>
\nTuyam (maid) : Itu dia sedang cakap dia mau susu<\/span> (She’s saying she wants milk)
\nMe : *scratched head, but anyway placed her on my lap*<\/span> Ok, milk milk then.
\n<\/span>Zara : Kng <\/span>*then sucked her thumb* <\/span>(an indication she wanted milk before she use this Kng word)
\n<\/span>I laid her down, and nursed her. I have absolutely no idea how ‘Kng’ symbolises milk.<\/p>\n
\nMe : Zara, mummy wants to go out to buy lunch, you want to come<\/span>
\nZara : *ignore me and continue playing with her toy*<\/span>
\nMe : Zara, you don’t want to go kai kai?<\/span> (go out in Cantonese)
\nZara : *looked up, grinning*<\/span> Tai Tai!<\/span>
\nMe : *patted the infant carrier seat*<\/span> Let’s go then. After mummy let Zara drive car car ok?<\/span>
\nZara : *walked to the infant carrier, while waving her hand in the air*<\/span> Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooo<\/span> (her way of relating to car)<\/p>\n
\nShe spotted me coming down from ths stairs
\nZara : *pointed to the door*<\/span> Park!<\/span>
\nMe : *asking the obvious*<\/span> Zara wants to go to the park?<\/span>
\nZara : *wobbled towards the door, still pointing*<\/span> Park! <\/span>
\nMe : Raining outside, cannot go to the park<\/span>
\nZara : *Still pointing outside*<\/span> Park!<\/span>
\nI carried her and showed her the pouring rain
\nMe : It’s raining outside, we cannot go to the park, after you will get wet<\/span>
\nNot sure if she understood what I was saying but she willingly let me lead her back to her pile of toys<\/p>\n
\nZara climbed up to the stairs, reached for her pair of new shoes (which are still too big for her) resting on the steps
\nZara : *put the shoes near her feet, and looked at me*<\/span> Hok Hok<\/span>
\nMe : Ok, mummy put on your shoe for you, then you can go walk walk
\n<\/span>I put on her pair of shoes for her
\nZara : *grinning*<\/span> Hok Hok! Hok Hok<\/span> *walked around in the oversized shoes*<\/span><\/p>\n
\nSat on the sofa with Zara. She stood up, and went to the edge, where the arm rest is.
\nZara : *clapped her hands*<\/span> Hong!<\/span>
\nMe : Yeah, you go there, after you Bong! and fall down<\/span>
\nZara dangled one of her feet outside of the arm rest, and grinned at me
\nMe : *point my finger at her*<\/span> No, no! Go there after you fall down!<\/span>
\nZara pointed her finger back at me and reached her foot out further
\nMe : You naughty huh? After mummy beat beat you!<\/span>
\nZara : *beat her own thigh*<\/span> Umph!
\nCheeky little girl she is!<\/p>\n
