Did you use bread flour/high protein flour? Did you make sure you knead it until it was window pane stage?

That’s just what I can think of and of course the temperature is important too. When you see you buns get dark/the color you want put an aluminum foil over it.

You have been really busy with your baking!I’m sure you and the girls are having tons of fun doing it!
