Hyatt Kuantan is a much better hotel. Hotels in Ferringhi Penang are quite nice too, though of course the beach is not as nice as those in the East Coast. I’m in Parkroyal Ferringhi now [working, not holidaying 🙁 ] and our rooms are about RM300 only I think.

Last time, I also booked 2 nites (De Rhu @ RM 190+) than moved out after the first nite. I ended up in Hyatt Kuantan. RM350 a night but it was sooooooo much better. Spacious, comfy and clean. It had the feel of staying in a premium hotel and was better value for money than the lousy Cherating hotel.
